Server Side Programming:

Server side programs run on the web server and can include order form processing, database information retrieval and storage, traffic analysis, and almost anything else you can think of. Client Side Programming :

These programs are downloaded to the client's PC by the web browser  and executed on the client PC. They reside in the client's PC and return results to the web browser. Since they execute on the client PC they execute very fast. Bu they have their limitations too. Prefferred client side programming language is Java script. Many interactive operations can be done by using prewritten available java scripts or writing customised Java script programs.
